Among the wineries of the Piana Rotaliana
It is from the sandy, alluvial soils of the rich countryside of Mezzolombardo, Mezzocorona and San Michele all’Adige that the red grapes of one of the best-loved products of Trentino are born: Teroldego, an excellent wine that, not by chance, has been awarded the D.O.C. appellation since 1971. The vineyards, which extend as far as the eye can see, together with the many wine cellars, design the landscape of the Piana Rotaliana and one has the impression of being in an oenological paradise.
Don’t miss a visit to the Villa de Varda wine cellar, close to the hotel. Here you will find a part of Villa de Varda’s production, the distillation plant, the “de Varda” method and the presentation of the family museum “Cose di Casa”, which houses more than 1,600 objects from four generations.
In the historic centre of Mezzocorona, between the Piazza della Chiesa (Franz Joseph Platz) and the Piazza San Gottardo, in a typically rural setting is the Dorigati winery. Founded in 1858, the passion for viticulture and oenology has been handed down here for five generations, with respect for the land and love for the territory.
Follow the signs towards San Michele all’Adige, Masetto locality, and you will arrive at the historic Endrizzi winery, which produces wine according to the dictates of time and with respect for the land, with a constant eye on eco-sustainable production.
Continuing south towards Trento, turn over the bridge in the direction of Mezzolombardo and along the road on the right you will notice the Cantina Mezzacorona winery. Equipped with the latest winemaking technology, the winery collects and vinifies the grapes produced by its 1,500 member winegrowers.
Finally, we return towards Mezzolombardo, passing first by the Cantina Rotaliana, which has always been committed to the protection and enhancement of native vines, thus remaining particularly faithful to its territory.
