St. Anthony’s Path and the Mezzocorona Mountain
Height difference m. 600
Walking time Mezzocorona (from the cable car) – Mountain: 1.30 hours
On the Mezzocorona Mountain, surrounded by a breathtaking panorama, you can breathe healthy, pure air. The small, peaceful plateau offers sunny areas for sunbathers, cool pine forests for relaxing, and countless walks suitable for all ages.
The St. Anthony Trail, marker 501, starts at the valley station of the Mezzocorona cable car. The path soon begins to climb the outer face of the mountain and at each bend the view widens, offering enchanting glimpses of the Piana Rotaliana and the surrounding mountains. Upon reaching the summit, a green oasis of peace and tranquillity and a breathtaking panorama welcome hikers.
The path is safe and well signposted, so it is easy for even the smallest hikers to follow. In summer, it is not recommended to undertake the hike during the hottest hours, as the path is mostly exposed to the sun. Alternatively, you can take the cable car, which is open all year round – for more information on timetables, please visit: www.comune.mezzocorona.tn.it
From the Monte di Mezzocorona there is also the possibility of setting off on various excursions: one of the most characteristic destinations is Malga Kraun, where in the spring and summer months, surrounded by the green meadows of the pastures, it is possible to enjoy one of the tasty dishes of Trentino cuisine.
